Brenda Burgess is an Kent based ARTIST, PORTRAIT SCULPTOR and ART WORKSHOP LEADER who has worked as an ART COURSE LEADER for the last eighteen years.
Brenda has developed a specialism of working with heritage sites to provide quality arts based workshops for all ages . For her OIL PAINTINGS she uses a light, calming, palette that is often deeply textural. This makes the images something to lose yourself in. She also produces PORTRAIT SCULPTURES to commission. For this she uses a kindly but honest eye. She believes she is capturing a moment in a family members life and feels a responsibility for making family heirlooms. Art Workshops (Adults)
Brenda provides adult workshop days in some of the loveliest of surroundings. A real 'get away from it all' day with quality sculpture tuition . These days are suitable for all levels of ability from very beginners wanting to 'have a go' to experienced artist wanting to try a new medium . Venues include Leeds Castle, Walmer Castle for English Heritage and Kent Life (formally The Museum of Kent Life). With her enthusiasm for her craft and a wish to share it with others Brenda has developed a specialism and commitment in the field of ARTS WORKSHOP provision for young people. All art courses are highly educational, interactive, key stage / core subject relevant but most importantly, THEY ARE FUN!
There are a variety of art course subjects, including TUDORS, HERALDRY, GROWING CYCLES, PORTRAITS and special days for GIFTED AND TALENTED YOUNG ARTISTS . In addition to this Brenda provides workshops specially adapted to client needs/ subject requirements , often to support work done by historic homes education departments. This provision has recently contributed to a client receiving two major awards for its education work. Brenda welcomes enquiries from schools, individuals and historic site.

Brenda's client list includes MUSEUMS, STATE AND PRIVATE SCHOOLS, COUNCILS and GROUPS OF FRIENDS. For the last three years Brenda has worked in conjunction with LEEDS CASTLE as their resident ARTIST / EDUCATOR providing workshops for visiting students, ENGLISH HERITAGE and KENT LIFE ( formally The Museum of Kent Life).
